My friend A.H. Trimble has been writing an online novel for several weeks now. Each installment is like an entry in a journal. The entire series is available here, and is a great resource to learn about temporal preparing for a bug-out on foot situation:
Escape from Tucson
is a work of fiction. About two months ago I really wanted to start writing again. No, not reviews, Tips, or preparedness articles…a work of fiction. I enjoyed writing My Journal
a whole lot and I wanted to do some more of it. Escape from Tucson
comes from an actual experience (minus the EMP) that occurred in May. I was attending some work related training in Tucson but before I left my wife and I talked about different scenarios regarding “grid-down” and what I would do. My dear wife was the one that brought up the concept of an EMP strike and what we should do. I guess she has been paying attention to all the news with China, Russia, and North Korea.
Escape from Tucson
is written in similar format as My Journal…diary or journal entries. It is written by a guy named Tom who is trying to get back home to his wife Lisa. He has to travel from Tucson, Arizona to Las Cruces, New Mexico. And he has to make that 300+ mile trip in late May, in the desert southwest, and do so during a time of unimaginable upheaval in the country. Please, join with me for this interesting, challenging, and action-packed journey.
I really want to extend my thanks to Kevin Reeve and Kelly Alwood for many of the defensive, offensive, tactical, and survival skills that I now possess. Taking Kevin’s class Urban Escape and Survival was an amazing class that taught me both solid skills, and how to leverage my situational awareness. Kelly, what can I say about Kelly’s Surviving Deadly Contact class! Kelly is an amazing soldier/operator as well as good man and a great teacher. I will be forever grateful to both of these men for the influence they’ve had in my life.
