Texas - austin area

posted Mar 06, 2017 16:03:31 by Colette
Hi all,

Are there any Texans here in the Austin area? If so, do you know whether they have started the self-reliance groups there?

Thanks!

I'm going to add to my original post, the church recently rolled out a 12 week self-reliance program in my stake and other stake. You can chose from 4 different groups; find a job, financial, education and one other. My stake just rolled this out and i was wondering if they rolled this out in Austin. If anyone hears anything, let me know. I'm really impressed by the program and if any of you have an opportunity to be part of it, it will benefit your life!

I'd also like to know about that for the San Antonio area.
Moses 7:18

18 And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them.

Hey y'all! Fun seeing these familiar names. Kelly I was in TSAM July 94 to 96. Your name is familiar to me. My baby sister is in TSAM right now in Boerne. She just past her one year mark, Sister Mackey. She's awake to everything, tries to bring things up with her companions but hasn't had one yet that she could talk with openly.

Well, if anyone hears anything, I would love to know. I have two sibling who live out there. WHen talking to both of them individually I found out they don't have access to the self-reliance program yet. I hope they get it soon, it would be benificial.

Heck yes there is a group! Colette, where do you live, in which stake? I am in the Anderson Mill ward, Austin Texas stake (Kelly knows it) and I am the ward EP Specialist but kind of the only active one in all the stake so I have put on stake events before.

I am also in a small group of LDS members who are from the Cedar Park, oak Hill, and Round Rock East stakes.

We even boast that Don Osmond is one of our members - it's true, but it's Donny Jr.

Send me an email and I will hook you up. Our next meeting is April 8.

I would consider myself probably one of the most active LDS-based preparedness individuals in the Austin area.

I also founded and run the Facebook LDS Emergency Prep group, if you are not a member, you should be! Let me know.

Always looking for more people!
