Could these scriptures be talking about the "second comforter" and our "calling and election"

2 Nephi 32:5,6
5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.
6 Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and there will be no more doctrine given until after he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh. And when he shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh, the things which he shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
2 Nephi 31:20
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Yes verses 5 and 6 of chapter 32 are talking about the Second Comforter. They are also part of Nephi's discussion on the Doctrine of Christ. Those verses usually get skipped over whenever the Doctrine of Christ is brought up but they are the most important verses along with v20 in chapter 31.

That we receive the Holy Ghost and that the Holy Ghost will teach us all things that we should do clearly indicates that there's still more after receipt of the Holy Ghost instead of just enduring by hanging on for dear life until we die. Connecting that to Joseph Smith's admonishment to seek our calling and election, those verses certainly seem to be talking about the Second Comforter and calling and election.

Absolutely. Line upon line we receive instruction. Baptism by water is the first step in learning how to have the Holy Ghost in our lives, but in order to receive the Holy Ghost, we need to have the baptism of fire.

There are more "scriptures" than what we have available to us now. When we seek for these things, more doctrine will present itself.

I agree Sarah. As I've recommitted myself in diligently searching and digging into scriptures. More...and more mysteries are being unfolded. When you seek with a purpose the answer kinda just pops out at you.
