Beautiful story in the Church News!

posted Mar 14, 2017 20:31:35 by Kathryn Blose

My oldest daughter, Bethany, had some Mongolian companions when she served in the Denver South mission from April 2002-October 2003. They had a beautiful influence on her. Bethany came home singing in Mongolian (and cooking). I love this Church News article of how an LDS Mongolian choir was formed, the sacrifices that the choir members made and the tremendous missionary opportunity this gave them. I hope this inspires everyone who reads it!

What a great missionary opportunity for them!
Through the strength of the Lord I can do all things.

This is great! My cousins daughter is leaving soon for her mission in Mongolia. I'm sure this choir will have been a positive influence for the Church there in Mongolia.

I still smile when I remember what Bethany told us about one of her Mongolian companions, Sister Baigalma, a thirty year old woman who had barely begun to learn English. Some of her companions taught her to sing Ice, Ice, Baby and they told her to sing it to the district leader. They did not tell her what it meant, just sing it. It had everyone cracking up!
