Helaman 6-8

posted Mar 14, 2017 21:30:25 by AliciaBlickfeldt
Shelle, Lory and I were talking last week about this crazy world. Shelle told me to go home and read Helaman 6 (again), which I did. I have been pondering over it for days. It reflects OUR day and is a pattern to consider in current and future events.

This morning I was listening to it on my phone app and let it continue until I got to Chapter 8, and then it hit me...

WHAT IF our prophet were to speak as boldly as Nephi did in this chapter? I'm pretty sure that would incite some serious angst against the church and us as members. Hmmmmm. I would NOT be surprised if the "patterns" we are all looking for in the scriptures, were made manifest in this way.

Just food for thought.

Thank you. I will be re-reading this tonight.

My primary lesson last Sunday was on Alma 17 (and I also re-read chapters 18 and 19 for good measure). I think I learned more than the kids, but they were soooo interested in the story about the sons of Mosiah and Ammon. They were spell-bound as I told the story about these amazing men. What a wealth of information is in these scriptures!

I'm glad you posted this. I have been meaning to pull out verse 24 and post it here.

The previous verses were talking about the types of crimes, abominations, and oaths the Gadianton robbers and Secret Combinations take. Then in 24 it says they are to reveal to the world what they are doing/planning to do! It reminded me of the movies with predictive programming. It reminded me of globalists in their interviews revealing future events.

24 And whosoever of those who belonged to their band should reveal unto the world of their wickedness and their abominations, should be tried, not according to the laws of their country, but according to the laws of their wickedness, which had been given by Gadianton and Kishkumen.

I thought about a certain athlete who escaped prison due to his money when I came across that verse, Shelle. It happens all the time I'm sure.
