How did He do it?

posted Mar 16, 2017 03:02:07 by Betty Kyler
The star of Bethlehem could have been the result of a group of stars together. The darkness in the BOM so thick you could see a fire could have been volcano dust or other natural factors. So my question is how did He do the 3 days without darkness? An asteroid passing by earth reflecting the sun? Would it create enough light? What are your theories?

I was thinking about this the other day. We know that celestial glory or Christ's glory is equal/greater than the sun's light. A few angels strategically placed would do the trick.😁

Betty I attended a meeting about our solar system, galaxies and the heavens from the beginning of our recorded history. Guess what? The sun has not always been visible in the center of our solar system. There were three planets (Saturn, Venus and Mars) in the past that lined up and blocked the sun. This explains the ancient cultures and their diagrams of these planets that look different that what we see today.

I wish I could remember all the details without digging through my notes, but it was amazing all the information that we don't study in school.

Greek mythology came from these star formations.

2Peter 3:13 - Nevertheless, according to promise look for the new heaven.

The earth will come back to its original place. Plagues in Revelation mirror Exodus plagues, planets changed and caused plagues.

Trumpets can be heard when planets pass.

The SLC temple is filled with these symbols and they do not mean what we would logically think they do.

You can email Matt Romrell and he will give you a youtube video to explain some of this.

BTW, the Star of Bethlehem was two stars together to make one large one. The same happened on June 29, 2015 when it returned after 2,000 years.

Bonnie, that's what I was thinking, maybe the Father came near during the birth?
Shelle, yes blocking the sun wouldn't be that difficult if you put planets in the way but keeping it shinning might require a bit more planning, not that it would be difficult for a God. It's almost as if earth is starting the process of repositioning as I read an article about the eskimos saying stars seem a bit out of alignment this winter (and they have 6 months of darkness up there.) I wasn't that impressed with the star of Bethlehem happening on June 29th but it might have been brighter over in Israel.

This is my first post as I mainly read what other people post. I have studied the Book of Mormon in the Heartland and the evidence which they have been gathering. One of the things that was discovered was that the New Madrid Earthquake of 1811-1812 had similar things occur that are mentioned in 3 Nephi at the time of the destruction. I have not read this book but here is information advertising the book "The Earthquake America Forgot; 2000 Temblors in Five Months."

The Earthquake America Forgot;
2,000 Temblors in Five Months
by Dr. David Stewart & Dr. Ray Knox
– The Mississippi River Ran Backwards
– Five Whole Towns Disappeared
– People Were Swallowed Alive
And It Will Happen Again!
This book tells of the observed destruction that occurred in 1811 and 1812
along the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) roughly between St. Louis, MO
and Memphis, TN. Some of the most mind-blowing accounts of destruction
are described in detail within the pages of this book. One of the most profound observations by those who witnessed these events have to do with a strange darkness that ensued after each earthquake shock. They wrote of three days of this darkness wherein the “sun, moon and stars were concealed” by a “dense black cloud of vapor” that “overshadowed the land.” Did a similar event happen near the time of Christ? Wait until you see the results of the research of paleoseismologist Martitia Tuttle from the History Channel documentary Earthquake in the Heartland!

Diane, I forgot about the New Madrid earthquake. Great example.
When you look back at how intense the destruction was during the death of the Savior, I can see how there could be dense black clouds of vapor that hid the light for a time. I believe the theory that the grand canyon was formed during this time. If you have ever seen the grand canyon, you can only guess that would have to have been a massive earthquake.

As far as three days without darkness, I understand it was a day, and night and a day that was all one day. I agree with Bonnie, where heavenly visitors came to witness the birth of the Savior and allowed their light to shine and not withhold it.

I'm not really buying the Star of Bethlehem theory either. The star had to be right over Bethlehem, and it was there for a couple of years, or at least until the wisemen found Christ, and then it disappeared. That conjunction didn't last long enough. I'm leaning towards a planet, possibly where the City of Enoch and Salem are? Just my thoughts.

Diane, that's a lot of destruction! I'm wondering if this is the huge earthquake that John prophesied happening during the sixth seal (Rev 6:12)

I love these posts as I know God does things with science as much as possible but then there are times. I have a photo I took in the sacred grove. we were there in the late 90s and were afraid to go off the path. It was in the morning early enough that not many people were there and we were talking about where it could have happened and it certainly wouldn't be near the path. I went off the path into an area that was thicker with trees. I looked around and said if our Father in Heaven was here with our Saviour the earth would still show something of it, a feeling, something even after all these years. I took about six picture of various places and when I got home and had it developed in one picture above the ground in a spot by a set of trees there was two large lighter spots. I have that picture framed To me it is undeniable evidence that the creators of the world were standing there.
